GURANTEES

Some of the first collectors of toy soldiers were the Pharaohs of ancient Egypt. Through the years, toy soldiers have been made of stone, clay, wood, metal and plastic. They have been favourite toys for young boys for generations as well as popular Christmas decorations, first in Europe and later in other parts of the world.

In the beginning, toy soldiers were owned mostly by the wealthy or royalty due to their expensive price tags. The end of the 18th century saw the mass production of miniature toy soldiers, mostly in Europe, making them more affordable for more people. The miniatures were also used as Christmas decorations for trees and in holiday scenes on mantel tops. By the 20th century, toy soldier production had spread to other parts of the world. Even celebrities like Winston Churchill and H.G. Wells were avid collectors of toy soldiers.

Once plastic was invented, and lead in metals became a health concern, inexpensive packs of plastic toy soldiers were produced and then purchased in droves by parents of boys to use as stocking stuffers. Baby boomers in particular have fond memories of hours spent fighting imaginary battles with toy soldiers. This grandiose illuminated display of a toy soldier from the Christmas Nutcracker ballet features a colourful uniform of red, green and black tinsel fabric. The soldier, standing at attention, proudly carries a PVC musket.

Measuring 280mm x 830mm x 260mm, with a 2 metre lead, the soldier is a static burn display and may be used indoors or under cover only. One of these exquisite Christmas decorations might not be enough. You might want multiple toy soldiers for a static display of a scene from the Nutcracker.
